\n\n\n\n- \n\nThe Pave Paws Tiger Den Pavilion is an area set aside for transient units that holds approximately 75 people. Pave Paws has running water, electricity, a grill, and a covered/lighted pavilion, and a fire circle. However, Pave Paws has no restrooms, and the closest ones are not within walking distance. Pack 350 will procure Port-a-Potties.\n\n
\n\n- There is NO emergency medical aid available at the base clinic. Calling 911 on base for emergency care will allow the base to send an ambulance to transport the injured to the Houston Medical Center.\n\n
\n\n- \n\nRobins AFB is off Highway 247, just east of Warner Robins, 16 miles south of Macon. They are 9 miles east of I-75 exit 146. When you arrive at the base, stop at the Main Gate Visitor Center to obtain a base pass from the Security Forces. Please ensure that each vehicle driver has a current copy of the vehicle registration, insurance, and a driver’s license.\n\n
\n\n- \n\nYou may use the base gym for showering; however, you are not authorized use of the gym equipment.\n\n
\n\n- \n\nDepending on Pack response, we will either go to a movie in the base theater, or go to the base bowling alley. The cost per game is approx. $2.35 with a $1.25 shoe rental.\n\n
\n\n- \n\nWe will be eating in the base chow hall in bldg 757. The dining hall accepts cash only. Menu items are a la carte, so prices will vary; however, breakfast will cost around $2 per person and other meals around $3 per person. They stop serving meals 20 minutes before closing. There is also a Burger King on base available for your patronage, as well as the food court at the Base Exchange.\n\n

\n\n- \n\nAs usual, in accordance with Scouting policy, no alcoholic beverages are allowed, and smoking around children is strictly prohibited.\n\n

Every year\n\nthe Scouts (of all ages and genders) take on the task of decorating the Marietta National Cemetery with flags. If you have not been there for this before, plan on going this year on May 26. There will be an excellent program to start off the event that will provide background and inspiration. Then the Scouts will sweep through the cemetery and place a flag by each headstone with a salute to the departed soldier.\n\n

You will receive t-shirts for you and your den at this time.\n\n\n\nCampers will arrive between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to pick up their t-shirts and meet the leaders.\n\n\n\nDen Leaders: Please make sure that you have contacted all the youth in your den and your co-leaders before Sneak-A-Peek. Please verify all roster information. Remind campers of what they should bring: \n\n\n\nThere are a few things that you will need each day. Your uniform will be your camp T-shirt, shorts/pants, belt, hat, bandanna, socks and shoes. ABSOLUTELY NO SANDALS, HEELIES or CROCS!\n\n\n\nBring a backpack daily with these items: \n\nTowel \n\nLunch (place in a zip lock bag to put in cooler)\n\nDrink (plastic containers only)\n\nWater bottle\n\nBring home anything from camp daily.\n\n\n\nDo not bring these items!\n\nWater guns of any kind\n\nKnives of any kind\n\nRadios, walkmans, etc…\n\nElectronic toys or games\n\n\n\nSunscreen and insect repellent must be applied at home before coming to camp. Your den leader will\n\naddress any other needs.\n\n\n\nLeaders & Volunteers: Please arrive each day by 8:30 am. Pixies leaders need to be prepared to receive staff children by 8:40 am. Dismissal will be after all areas are secured and the scouts have all been picked up (approximately 4:00 pm). If you will be absent from camp on any given day, you must contact Doreen Campbell @ 678-570-4908 with the name of your replacement as soon as possible.\n\n\n\nCampers: Please arrive each day between 8:45 and 9:00 am at the drop off location (look for the signs). Dismissal will start at 3:00 pm. Do not arrive before 8:45. Wear your Class B (Pack T-shirt) if you have one.\n\n\n\nFollowing the service project we will be allowed to hold a Pack Family Campout in a remote part of the Park. This is low-impact camping. The Pack will provide the food. You will need a tent, sleeping bags and mats, folding chairs and plenty of drinking water for your family as there is none available at the park. Port-a-potties will be brought in for us.\n\n\n\nYou may come for the Cleanup only if you like, but if you plan to camp with us, we must know by the Pack Meeting on Sept. 24th so we can plan for food and supplies.\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\nThere will be reserved parking for us near the back of the (always-full) museum parking lot. Simply drive thru the main lot and look for a grassy/reserved field beyond the "road closed" sign.\n\n
\n\n\n\nThe campsite will be open during the service project for those that can not physically endure the mountain, or would like to stay behind with smaller kids.\n\n
\n\n\n\nThe park ranger wanted us to each bring our own drinking water.\n\n

\n\nFrom Atlanta - take I-75 North to exit 277 (Ga 92, the first Acworth exit), go east 1.2 miles, then turn left on Kellogg Creek Road for 3.9 miles. Entrance to Camp 175 is on left, across from Payne Campground. Turn right up the hill and follow dirt road to second gate, if unlocked proceed until you reach the parking area at the top of the camp. Please park here and proceed on foot. We do not recommend driving within the camp since the drive to the Mess Hall is steep and can become slick.\n\n

This is very historic site much like Kennesaw Battlefield. \n\n\n\nParking is limited to about 12 spots in the parking lot. If you know of other families going, you may want to car pool.\n\n\n\nScouts are required to wear their Class "A" uniforms as this is a Historic Site managed by the National Park Service.\n\n\n\nDirections:\n\n \n\nTake Mars Hill Road to Highway 41. Turn left like your heading to Cartersville. Take to exit to GA-293 like you would be heading towards Emerson. At the Stop take a left and head towards the town of Allatoona. You will see a GA State Park Sign that points you towards the Pass. Continue on this route cross the railroad track and follow the signs. The parking lot is under the leeve.

Turn LEFT onto ROGERS ST. Turn RIGHT onto WASHINGTON AVE NE. Turn into the cemetery and park. There will be a military ceremony at noon near the rostrum at the top of the hill. A representative from each of the 4 branches of the military will lay wreaths on slected graves. Then the volunteers will start to lay wreaths. I am told there are several hundred wreaths this year. \n\n\n\nUniform: You must wear your Class A uniform. - Racers can arrive on Friday night during setup to weigh and run their cars. \n\nBut you must be flexible; the track won't be ready \n\nat 6PM, and once the setup team is finished, they will leave even\n\nif it's before 8PM
- There will be a table at the Derby with limited supplies to assist with last-minute alterations to your car
- For those that have raced with Pack 350 in the past, the starting gate will be lowered\n\ncloser to the ground this year. Too many cars have either jumped the track\n\nor been damaged by hitting the finish line as such high speeds
\n\n- Because of the Scout distribution across Dens this year, we've had to combine several\n\nDens to form Groups. Each Group contains only one Rank,\n\nbut may contain more than one Den
\n\n- Awards go to
- Best design for each Group (judged by scouts in that Group)
- Top three designs for Pack (judged by Pack Leaders)
- Top three racers for each Rank
- Top three racers for Pack
\n\n \n\n- Only medal winners for each Rank will advance to the Finals
\n\n- Outlaw race cars are limited to 5 oz.

\n\n\n\nALL CARS MUST PASS INSPECTION TO QUALIFY FOR THE RACE
\n\nFollowing are the inspection points
\n\n\n\n- The car weight shall not exceed 5.0 oz. The official race scale shall be considered final.
\n\n- The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7"
- The overall width of the car shall not exceed 2 ľ".
\n\n- The car must have 1 ľ” clearance between the wheels.
\n\n- The car must have 3/8” clearance underneath the body.
\n\n- The wood provided in the kit must be used. The block may be shaped any way that is desired.
\n\n- The wheels supplied with the kit must be used. The wheels may not be cut, drilled, beveled or rounded. You may remove the seam from the wheels.
\n\n- The axles supplied with the kit must be used. They may be polished or lubricated.
\n\n- Wheel bearings, washers or bushings are prohibited.
\n\n- The car must not ride on any type of springs.
\n\n- The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices.
\n\n- No loose material of any kind, such as lead shot, may be used. Each car must pass\n\ninspection by the official inspection committee before it will be allowed to compete.\n\nThe Inspection Committee has the responsibility to disqualify those cars that do\n\nnot meet these specifications.

Council provides all elements of the outdoor experience, such as staffing, food service, housing in summer camp tents, and program. The program is generally centered around a fun and exciting theme and consists of activities such as but not limited to swimming, nature, BB gun shooting, archery, and crafts.The program also features a rousing campfire ceremony!\n\n\n\nIn most cases, the youth participants will be under the supervision of a parent or guardian. In all cases, each youth participant is responsible to a specific adult. Council-organized family camps are conducted in accordance with established National Standards. Summer Camp Staff assisted by volunteer Leaders and Scouts provide the program for these activities.\n\n\n\nThe Atlanta Area Council provides two opportunities to attend Cub Family Camp each summer. The Cub Family Camp at Bert Adams Scout Reservation will be held June 20-21. The Cub Family Camp at Woodruff Scout Reservation will be held July 11-12. \n\n- Racers can arrive on Friday night during setup to weigh and run their cars. But please be flexible; the track won't be ready at 6PM, and once the setup team is finished, they will leave even if it's before 8PM
\n\n- There will be a table at the Derby with limited supplies to assist with last-minute alterations to your car
\n\n- The race format has changed from previous years. See details in the Schedule section below.
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nALL CARS MUST PASS INSPECTION TO QUALIFY FOR THE RACE\n\n\n\nFollowing are the inspection points\n\n\n\n\n\n- The car weight shall not exceed 5.0 oz. The official race scale shall be considered final.
\n\n- The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7".
\n\n- The overall width of the car shall not exceed 2-3/4".
\n\n- The car must have 1-3/4" clearance between the wheels.
\n\n- The car must have 3/8" clearance underneath the body.
\n\n- Only the wood provided in the kit may be used. The block may be shaped any way that is desired.
\n\n- Only the wheels supplied with the kit may be used. The wheels may not be cut, drilled, beveled, or rounded. The seams of the wheels may be removed.
\n\n- Only the axles supplied with the kit may be used. They may be polished or lubricated.
\n\n- Wheel bearings, washers, or bushings are prohibited.
\n\n- The car must not ride on any type of spring.
\n\n- The car must be freewheeling and use no starting devices.
\n\n- No loose material of any kind, such as lead shot, may be used. Each car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it will be allowed to compete. The Inspection Committee has the responsibility of disqualifying those cars that do not meet these specifications.

\n\n\n\nThe above schedule assumes that all scouts enter a car to race and there is a 15 minute buffer between each round of races. All races will be by rank, not den. We will not be using double elimination as in past years; we will be using the Perfect-N racing schedule. Using this schedule, each car will run one heat in each lane of the track; the three cars with the best placing in all four heats will advance to the championship round. We have reserved Pavilion A, which includes use of a horseshoe pit and volleyball court (horseshoes and volleyballs are provided by the park).\n\n\n\nThe menu will be BBQ pork sandwiches, hotdogs, chips, and drinks. The Pack will provide all of those items plus paper goods. Dens are responsible for desserts:\n\n\n\nTigers - cookies (at least 3 packs per den)\n\nWolves - brownies (at least 4 batches per den)\n\nBears - cupcakes (at least 3 dozen per den)\n\nWebelos - surprise us!!!\n\n\n\nKeep in mind that we have 61 registered scouts, so if we get an 100% turn-out with each boy bringing 2 family members, that we could end up with almost 180 people. ***This is why a headcount is so important!!!*** Parents, please RSVP to your den leader by Wednesday May 12th. \n\n- There will be a table at the Derby with limited supplies to assist with last-minute alterations to your car
\n\n- The race format is the same as last year. See details in the Schedule section below.

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nALL CARS MUST PASS INSPECTION TO QUALIFY FOR THE RACE\n\n\n\nFollowing are the inspection points\n\n\n\n\n\n- The car weight shall not exceed 5.0 oz. The official Pack 350 race scale shall be considered final.
\n\n- The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7".
\n\n- The overall width of the car shall not exceed 2-3/4".
\n\n- The axles must be placed in the pre-cut groove and the wheelbase cannot be extended.
\n\n- The car must have 1-3/4" clearance between the wheels.
\n\n- The car must have 3/8" clearance underneath the body.
\n\n- Only the wood provided in the kit may be used; the block may be shaped any way that is desired. BSA-approved modification kits may also be used, as long as the car still meets all inspection criteria.
\n\n- Only official BSA wheels are allowed. These may be the wheels in the kit or colored wheels purchased at the Scout Shop.
\n\n- The wheels may not be cut, drilled, beveled, or rounded. The seams of the wheels may be removed.
\n\n- All four wheels of the car must make contact with the track at all times.
\n\n- Only the axles supplied with the kit may be used. They may be polished or dry-lubricated (e.g. graphite).
\n\n- Wheel bearings, washers, or bushings are prohibited.
\n\n- The car must not ride on any type of spring.
\n\n- The car must be freewheeling and use no starting devices.
\n\n- No loose material of any kind, such as lead shot, may be used.
\n\n- Each car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it will be allowed to compete.
\n\n- The Inspection Committee has the responsibility of disqualifying those cars that do not meet these specifications.
\n\n- For cars that fail inspection, an alternative “Outlaw” race will take place at the end of the Pack competition.
\n\n- For those dads itching to create a dominant speedster that will outclass all others, we encourage you to design and make a car for the Outlaw Race.

\n\n\n\nThe above schedule assumes that all scouts enter a car to race and there is roughly a 10-minute buffer between each round of races. We will be using the Perfect-N racing schedule. Using this schedule, each car will run one heat in each lane of the track; the three cars with the best placing in all four heats will advance to the championship round.
